About Us

The Geography and History Teachers Association of the Northern Territory (GHTANT) provides the opportunity for the sharing of professional knowledge, exploring opportunities in Geography and History in the NT, promoting the teaching of Geography and History at all school levels and opportunities for active participation in History and Geography.

We offer opportunities throughout the year for regional and remote teachers throughout the Northern Territory to attend professional development and network with other professionals. Please regularly check our website for details of upcoming opportunties.

GHTANT is committed to supporting our members to attend national conferences, such as this one and a number of scholarships to the value of $500 are available for individual members – see attached form.

In recognition for the financial support provided by GHTANT to attend a national conference, members receiving scholarships are to provide feedback to the Association on the conference. This feedback could be in the form of:

  • Written report for the newsletter
  • Assessment tasks (Visible learning)
  • Teaching and Learning sequence
  • Unit of Work
  • Presentation and resource/handout at  PL event such as the Mini Conference or Festival of Teaching
