GHTANT presents Curriculum Bytes: a series of rapid download presentations related to

classroom teaching and learning. There will also be the chance to give SACE your feedback on

the new senior ACARA History and Geography courses for implementation in 2017.

NT Library: Launch of the National History Challenge

A small but enthusiastic group were given the opportunity to learn about the 2014 national History Challenge and also take a tour of the NT Library and learn about the wide range of resources that are available.

 

NT Archives

Where:     NT Archives, Kelsey Crescent, Milner

 

A small but enthusiastic group of teachers were shown the wide range of resources and services available at NT Archives.

 

This was a valuable opportunity and this professional development opportunity will be offerred agin later in 2014.

 

Australian Curriculum Geography Workshops

 

Date: Saturday, 17th August 2013

Time: 9am to 1pm

Venue: Rosebery Middle School, Belyuen Road Roseberry

 

 

 

The two main presenters were Susan Caldis, Senior Project officer Geography, ACARA and Malcolm McInerney, President of the Australian Geography Teachers' Association (AGTA). Separate workshops  primary and secondary teachers.

 

Susan Aldis explained the new Australian Curriculum for Geography and Malcolm led teachers through the recently released GEOSPACE website, available at www.geogspace.edu.au.

 

More than sixty people attended this workshop and resources and photos from the day will be available soon on this website.

A group of 40 people from across the Territory attended this day on Saturday 25th May 2013 at Darwin Middle School. Key presenters were Paul Kiem, Paul Foley and Geraldine Ditchburn and a programme of the various sessions on the day can be found here.

 

The day had the theme of "Interrogating the past, imagining the future" and was very successful. It was also pleasing to see local presenters, Lorraine Caldwell, Rebecca Glasby and Liam Philiips.

 

National History Challenge Launch

National History Challenge NT launch plus tour of the NT Library and the resources available and information from Parliamentary Education Unit.

A small group took part in this event with the tour of the resources available in the NT Library considered well worthwhile and a valuable resource for teachers at all levels.

  • Registration will be free
  • Finish at 12pm
